Snellman's Authentic Christmas Hams are made using the traditional method, where the hams are allowed to rest after gray-salting the day before packing. This way, the excess brine drains from the hams and does not shrink too much during cooking.

No extra muscle pieces are added to the ham, it is cut from one ham. The ham made from Finnish country pork is beautiful and fresh in colour after cooking.

A Uniquely Finnish Breed

The pigs on Snellman's family farms are Finnish - right down to their inheritance. The original pig breeds, the Finnish Maatiainen and Yorkshire, have been bred on Finnish family farms for over 100 years. Our Heritage Breed Finnish Pig is a cross between these indigenous breeds. We control the entire value chain, from genetics, to a strict GMO-Free feed, to the end product. It is therefore uniquely Finnish.
